Here’s a request – if any of you run across some really good deals on vacations to anywhere warm in April from Chicago, please let me know. We have a week free and we just got to get out of this country! We’ll be in Chicago for a Youth Leaders Retreat and so we thought that would be a great time to find cheaper tickets to somewhere – I’m thinking Caribbean – South America – Central America, wherever!!!! Just let me know! Thanks. There is another blizzard coming tomorrow – at least that’s the word on the street! Ahhhh! I’m so ready for Spring! So anyway, other than than, not too much going on here. I’m just glad it’s Friday – isn’t that awful? I don’t even work full time! Happy Weekend!

A special shout out to Sam!

Even though Sam rarely even recalls that we have a blog, I thought I’d send out a little hooray in honor of him turning the big 3-0 today! He’s been dreading it, he never has liked birthdays, but I try to change that for him. I’ve decided we’re not going to dread them as rememberances of us getting older, but that we are going to use it as a milestone of our lives and how far the Lord has brought us! We’ve both been blessed to have multiple opportunities in our 30 short years of living. The great thing is that I know the Lord has big plans for us even for the next 30 years! So today, instead of celebrating Sam’s birthday and getting older, we are going to celebrate all that God has done in our life! It all started with a great pancake and bacom breakfast!!! Then the weather is quite a bit warmer today, so we’ll do something outside I’m sure this afternoon and for dinner – well, I’m safe in saying that Sam will probably never read this, so I’m making him Seafood Stuffed Shells. He’s been in the mood for them for the last 5 years and no one has ever made them for him. I can barely bring myself to do it since we don’t have access to fresh seafood, only frozen, but for him…… So anyway, I hope it works out well. One thing I’ve noticed that since I got married, it is really hard to suprise your spouse with meals! Well, especially when we are home together all afternoon! Oh well. And gifts, that’s a whole nother thing! When Christmas was 1 month ago exactly and we don’t have all that much money anyway, gifts are kind of… I don’t know. I like getting gifts, but I find we are buying things whenever we want them. Oh well… I”ll probably get him something small anyway. You know it’s pretty bad, when Sam stops by the $ store to pick up some magnetic notepads for my grocery list and I get all excited about them!!! Ha! Oh well…

Other than that, we are heading up to Grand Forks tomorrow to see the Bro family and meet Ethan. It’ll be kind of a long day. It’s a 4 hour drive each way and we are only going for the day, but it’ll be fun. I think Johnny and Judah are coming along, so that’ll be fun!

Nothing else to report at this time – have a great weekend and stay plenty warm!

We’re now – Uncle Sam and Aunt Sarah!

I just found out at 8:15 this morning that my sister-in-law is in labor! Her water broke last night around 9:30 and has been at the hospital ever since, she’s about 8 or 9 cm dialated. So I get to find out soon if we have a little nephew or niece! Pray for her if you think about it – Sadie is her name and her husband Nathan! Thanks!

Greetings from a cold and frozen tundra! We enjoyed our week in Virginia for Thanksgiving with near 70 degree days! The leaves were beautiful and we were so excited to be able to revert back to Fall for the T-giving holiday. Here in ND, we lost our leaves quite a while ago and it was feeling more like Christmas when we left, but it was a great visit. We were just a few days behind the peak of the leaf changes, but still got to enjoy quite a bit of it. Sam has never seen Va in the Fall. You know we got married on Oct. 22 so that we would have a Fall wedding in all it’s glory. Don’t you know that not one leaf had changed for our wedding. Oh well.  But we did get to visit with family this time. Aunt Cealie came in from Australia with our cousins, Jesse and Zoe! That was really fun! Uncle Jim and Aunt Gayle came up from Alabama with our other cousin, Mehgan. So all in all, we had about 25 people at Thanksgiving. It was great! We also went down to the Smithsonian on Wednesday to see the Butterfly Exhibit, which was “temporarily closed” until February! We were so excited to see that, but maybe next time! It was beautiful in downtown Washington D.C.

The Capital Building!

We did get to celebrate Mom and Dad’s 40th Wedding Anniversary at the Olde Towne Steak and Seafood in Fredericksburg, VA.  And then of course, Dad celebrated his birthday on Nov. 26. So we had much to be thankful for! Wes and Cindy made it up from FL and it was so good to be able to see them! We ended up leaving on Sunday and took a new route home, through Charleston, WV. It was a great trip, but we reached Minnesota and the snow started, by the time we got to Fargo, the temps. were well below freezing. Welcome Home! 2 degrees when we rolled into the driveway and yesterday didn’t get above 12 degrees and today with windchills, I don’t have a clue what we’re pushing, 0 maybe? All I know is that it’s cold! And I wasn’t ready for it! Well, as soon as something more interesting happens, I’ll be sure to get on here, for now, my brain is working slow because of the cold! Burrr!!!!!!!!!!! PS. I got to see Lori and Rachel and that was really good!
